Recruitment has begun for the “Bridging Generations" volunteer programme, part of the European Solidarity Corps. Applications are being accepted up until May 5th.

The second edition of the “Bridging Generations" programme, organized by the NCU Copernican Integration Centre, is scheduled for July 6–19. During this time, young people from across Europe and older residents of Toruń and the surrounding area will spend time together participating in joint activities at the Centre. It is worth noting that this year's volunteer programme has a special significance, as the United Nations General Assembly has declared 2026 the International Year of Volunteering for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026).

People aged 18–30 from across Europe, including Poland, can apply to participate in the volunteer programme through the European Solidarity Corps website. This year, the Centre's partners are the “Willa z Pasją" (“Villa with Passion") Local Activity Centre and the Day Care Centre in Toruń.

In 2024, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń received the Quality Label. The National Agency for the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) awarded the university a certificate recognizing it as a leading, hosting, and supporting organization in international volunteer projects. Thanks to this distinction, the Nicolaus Copernicus University has the opportunity to invite young people from abroad and jointly carry out volunteer activities for the benefit of the local community until 2027.
