International Summer with Science
The Nicolaus Copernicus University is hosting 13 students from abroad as part of the international internship program Toruń Student Summer Program in Exact Sciences (TSSP ExSci).
TSSP ExSci is a program that allows foreign students to actively participate in a four-week summer research project. Under the guidance of researchers from the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Informatics and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, young scientists carry out projects covering research in the fields of astronomy, physics, mathematics, computer science, automation, robotics or informatics.

This year, Toruń is hosting students from Croatia, Greece, South Korea, Latvia, Morocco, Portugal, Sweden, Ukraine, Italy and the USA. In addition to working on research projects, programme participants have the opportunity to attend lectures in English presenting research conducted at both faculties. During this year's edition, dr Iulia Brumboiu gave a lecture on computational spectroscopy, and dr Francisca Crislane Vieira De Brito gave a lecture on biphotons driving quantum technologies. Students also listened to a lecture by dr. Piotr Stefaniak on bifurcations in differential equations and a presentation by dr. Jakub Narębski on machine learning and software engineering using artificial intelligence.
More information about the programme can be found at Toruń Students Summer Program. TSSP ExSci is implemented as part of the 'Initiative of Excellence – Research University' project financed by the Ministry of Education and Science.
