Job market under the magnifying glass of the new Centre
The Research Data Centre of the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg, the eleventh of its kind in the world, and the first in Central and Eastern Europe, was opened at the NCU Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management.
The establishment of the Centre is the outcome of an agreement between the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management and the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg. The agreement is the result of long-term cooperation between the Department of Human Resource Management headed by Prof. dr habil. Zenon Wiśniewski and the Institute for Labour Market and Employment Research of the Federal Labour Agency (IAB). Under the agreement, the Institute will provide the new Centre with microeconomic data of the Federal Labour Agency for non-commercial research, which will enable scientists from all over Poland to conduct international comparative analyses.
By establishing the Research Data Centre of the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń joined 10 renowned universities in the world with access to the IAB database (7 centres in the USA and one in Canada, France and Great Britain respectively).
The official opening ceremony of the Centre took place on October 14th, and was attended by Prof. Bernd Fitzenberger, Director of IAB, and Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, President of ZUS. The event was accompanied by a seminar entitled "Data Research Centre of the Federal Employment Agency - international experiences and possibilities of cooperation".
