The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń has once again been included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject - one of the most prestigious international rankings of higher education institutions. In this year's list, the NCU was recognised in seven subjects and 21 disciplines.

THE World University Ranking is one of the three most respected and widely commented on international university rankings - alongside the Academic Ranking of World Universities (the so-called Shanghai Ranking) and the QS World University Rankings. In addition to the annual ranking of the world's best universities, Times Higher Education also produces more detailed rankings, including a subject ranking. This covers 11 subject areas and its aim is to indicate to candidates which universities are worth considering when choosing a course of study. This year's ranking was published on 26 October.

The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is the only university from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship to be included.

In the latest edition of the list, NCU made its debut in the area of law, where it was recorded in the 301+ bracket ex aequo with the University of Łódź, the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin and the University of Silesia. In the arts and humanities listing, our University ranked in the 501-600 range in four blocks: archaeology; arts, performing arts and design; history, philosophy and theology; and languages, literature and linguistics. In all three categories in business and economics, the NCU is ranked in the 601-800 range out of 909 universities listed in this ranking. The university ranked in the same bracket in the area of life sciences, and in the sport science subcategory Nicolaus Copernicus University was the best among all Polish universities. Veterinary sciences fared equally well, where the NCU was ranked among the best together with the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the University of Life Sciences in Poznań.
