New Members of the University Council
On 1 January 2025, the newly elected members of the University Council began their terms of office for the term 2025-2028, with Robert Włosiński as the new president.
The statutory councils, which are the collegiate bodies of Polish higher education institutions, are responsible for, among other things, monitoring the management of the institution, particularly in financial matters, giving opinions on the draft statutes and development strategies, and giving opinions on material and financial plans and reports on their implementation.
During the NCU Senate meetings, four NCU employees and four members from outside the academic community were elected to the University Council. From among the candidates put forward by the Rector's Council and senators, prof. dr. habil. Barbara Bojko from the Faculty of Pharmacy, prof. dr. habil. Bartłomiej Kałużny from the Faculty of Medicine, prof. dr. habil. Andrzej Rozkosz from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and dr. habil. Marcin Czyżniewski, NCU Prof. from the Faculty of Political Science and Security Studies were elected.
The social and business environment in the Council will be represented by mgr Krzysztof Czyżewski, a lawyer specialising in intellectual property law and film law and author of several novels, mgr Henryk Dulanowski, president of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Toruń, mgr Robert Włosiński, co-owner and proxy of Eurobrokers in Bydgoszcz, and mgr Ewa Korfanty, board member of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Association of Road Carriers and co-owner of TransRach.
In accordance with the law on higher education and science, the President of the Student Council, Marta Kuta, also sits on the Council.
