Rector's Awards Presented!
On 26 June 2025, the Rector's Awards Ceremony for those employed at the Toruń part of the University was held in the NCU Auditorium. Academic and non-academic staff were awarded with 566 individual and 103 team awards.
The Rector honoured the university's teaching and research staff, awarding them first-, second- and third-degree awards and distinctions for their scientific, teaching and organisational activities, as well as for their overall achievements. The awards went to 108 individuals and 103 teams.
I would like to thank you for another year of work for the University, and I am sure that next year we will meet in an equally large group, said prof. dr habil. Andrzej Tretyn, NCU Rector during the ceremony in the Main Auditorium.
The Rector also awarded 458 non-teaching staff - the staff of the university-wide and faculty administration units, the University Library, as well as engineering and technical staff and service staff - as recognition for their outstanding achievements and commitment.
I congratulate and thank you for your work, which is often overlooked on a day-to-day basis but is crucial to the smooth running of the University," said Karolina Sokalska, NCU Chancellor.
The Rector drew attention to the change in the principles of granting awards: - 'We have abandoned the top-down procedure in which decisions, including those concerning people employed in the faculties or other units, were made at the Rector's Office,' said Professor Andrzej Tretyn. - We have decided to direct the funds for the awards to the units, so that it is the supervisors who decide on their distribution. And I respected the decisions of your supervisors.
The Rector's Awards ceremony in the Bydgoszcz part of the University took place on 30 June. At the Collegium Medicum, the Rector honoured 165 teaching and research staff and 163 people employed in the university-wide and faculty administration units, the University Library, as well as engineering, technical, and service staff.
