Success in the YUFE programme
Dr Joanna Augustyn from the NCU Faculty of Humanities was among the seven winners of the pilot edition of the YUFE Visiting Scholar programme, which aims to strengthen inter-university cooperation within the alliance through individual contacts between experienced researchers.
The YUFE Visiting Scholar is a programme offered as part of the YUFE Staff Journey, which enables researchers from the YUFE universities to visit a selected partner university and develop teaching projects, knowledge transfer processes, workshops or training courses in collaboration with the local staff. Activities should be aimed at promoting cooperation and strengthening the European academic community.
At the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the winner of the pilot edition of the project was Dr Joanna Augustyn, assistant professor at the Department of Romance Literary Studies, specialist in medieval French literature and gender studies, supervisor of the Excentrycy Research Club, with which she organises, among other things, Romance Studies Week. As a YUFE Visiting Scholar, she will work closely with a multidisciplinary team at Sorbonne Nouvelle University to develop a joint blended intensive programme in French studies. Thanks to innovative teaching formats and new mobility paths, the project will strengthen long-term cooperation and increase the visibility of the humanities at the YUFE. The project is hosted by Professor Aliyah Morgenstern, linguist and Vice-Rector for European Affairs at Sorbonne Nouvelle University.
Last year, Dr Joanna Augustyn took part in the YUFE Research Relay training in Brussels, where she worked with an interdisciplinary team to prepare a grant application in the field of combating gender-based violence.
