The NCU Rector, Prof. Andrzej Sokala, has appointed three Deputy Rectors: for equal treatment; for the safety of students and doctoral students; and an academic ombudsman. The Deputy Rectors will carry out their duties in the term of office 2020 - 2024.

Dr. habil. Aleksandra Derra, NCU Prof. from the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, was appointed Deputy Rector for equal treatment. Her task is to implement the principle of equal treatment at the University, develop a culture of respect for diversity and care for inclusion in all areas of the activities (scientific research, education, intra-institutional relations, relations with the social and business circles), so that the Nicolaus Copernicus Copernicus University fully realises its scientific potential and the obligations enshrined in the Nicolaus Copernicus University's Mission and Strategy and resulting from participation in the IDUB and YUFE projects.

Dr Magdalena Kalińska from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management has been appointed Deputy Rector for the safety of students and doctoral students. Her responsibilities include: taking care of and ensuring the sense of safety of students and doctoral students by recognising all kinds of risks, reacting to them, and organising substantive assistance to people whose safety has been compromised.

Dr Bartłomiej Chludziński from the Faculty of Law and Administration became an university ombudsman.  His responsibility is to resolve disputes between students, doctoral students and staff of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, in particular through mediation. Information on the regulations in force at the university can also be obtained in the ombudsman’s office. The ombudsman's activities are guided by the principles of confidentiality, impartiality and neutrality.
