YUFE Student Forum in Toruń
On April 8–9, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń hosted a meeting of the YUFE Student Forum – an advisory body representing students from universities within the Young Universities for the Future of Europe alliance. The event took place at the Faculty of Chemistry and brought together delegates from all partner universities.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss YUFE's key areas of activity, map the initiatives carried out so far, and plan future actions that students can get involved in. The agenda also included discussions on language offerings as well as topics related to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Guests were welcomed by Dr. Magdalena Barwiołek, NCU Professor, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Executive Director of YUFE at NCU. Opening remarks were also given by the Forum Chairs – Sani Vesala (University of Eastern Finland), Jaqueline Prado-Prado (Sorbonne Nouvelle University), and Petra Gudović (University of Rijeka), who emphasized the importance of in-person meetings for fostering engagement and dialogue among students.
Each university is represented in the Forum by three students. This group plays a key role within the alliance in shaping the vision and activities of the consortium. At the management level as well – the Forum's president serves as a co-chair of the YUFE Strategic Board.
