Immortality locked in the body
As part of the “MAXIMUM. Thinking Anew” series, the first open meeting after the summer break will be held on October 13 at 5:00 p.m. at Collegium Maximum (Plac Rapackiego 1). The guest of the event will be Dr Cezary Odrzygóźdź, director of the Centre for Academic Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer at Nicolaus Copernicus University.
The topic of Dr Cezary Odrzygóźdź's presentation will be “Immortality locked in the body” – a story combining ancient myths about elixirs of longevity with the latest discoveries in molecular biology and regenerative medicine. Participants will learn how research on exceptionally long-lived organisms, regenerative therapies, and gene editing capabilities translate into practical strategies for slowing down the aging process. The meeting will provide a new perspective on the future of humanity and showcase the tools that modern science is already putting at our disposal.
“MAXIMUM. Thinking Anew” is a series of meetings with interesting people, which was inaugurated in June 2025. The guest of the first meeting was Janina Ochojska, social activist and Ambassador of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
