The visual identification of the World Copernican Congress created by dobosz.studio has been nominated in the Design of the Year competition organised by the Association of Graphic Designers in Warsaw. The jury's verdict will be announced on 21 October.

The Project of the Year is the first graphic design competition in Poland, in which the jury takes into account not only the aesthetic evaluation of the submitted work, but also the function of design and the social responsibility of the creators. The aim of the competition is to honour the most groundbreaking projects by graphic designers in Poland. The originator of the initiative is the Association of Graphic Designers (Stowarzyszenie Twórców Grafiki Użytkowej), set up in 2004 by a group of designers from Warsaw.

Of the 62 projects submitted for the competition for the graphic identification of the World Copernican Congress, the idea of the Poznań-based dobosz.studio proved to be the best. Its leading theme is the border between light and dark. In the final, for which the three highest-ranking entries qualified, the jury unanimously chose the logo designed by dobosz.studio. - In the opinion of all the jurors, from the outset, the winning design stood out from the others in terms of the simplicity of its message and its considerable utility," said dr hab. Mieczysław Kunz, NCU Prof., secretary of the Competition Jury at the time. - The minimalist design of the logo and the clear reference to the world's best graphic design trends, combined with the understatement or - if you prefer - the individual interpretation of the logo's signet ring, testify to the originality and excellent thinking of its creator and the fact that it meets the defined main objective of the competition.

The graphic design of the Toruń part of the Congress, based on the WCC visual identity system, was created by Anna Jaszczuk from the NCU Department of Promotion and Communication
