Inauguration of the academic year
The official inauguration of the 2022/2023 academic year will begin on 3 October at 11:00 am in the NCU Aula. The event will be broadcast on the NCU TV website.
Traditionally, before the ceremony begins, the members of the NCU Senate - will lay flowers at the Nicolaus Copernicus monument in the Old Town Market Square in Toruń at 10:15 a.m.
The events in the Aula will open with an inaugural address by the Rector, Prof. dr habil. Andrzej Sokala, followed by matriculation, i.e. the symbolic inclusion of first-year male and female students into the academic community. The students starting their studies at the Academic High School will also join our community.
The start of the academic year will also be an opportunity to award the titles of the Best Graduate, Best Student and Best Student-Sportsperson, as well as Best AHS Student. This year, an award will also be given for making NCU's name famous abroad.
The opening lecture entitled. "The work of art as an object of desire" will be delivered by Prof. dr habil. Dariusz Markowski of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
On 13th October 2022, at 7 p.m., a mass will be held in the Holy Spirit Academic Church in Toruń for the intention of the 2022/2023 academic year.
