International studies with support from NAWA
The Faculty of Law and Administration and the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus University will receive nearly 2 million zlotys to develop international study programmes. The funding was awarded as part of the “Katamaran" call for proposals organized by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
The NAWA Katamaran Programme supports the creation and development of international degree programs offered by higher education and research institutions in Poland in collaboration with at least one foreign university. Through this program, students have the opportunity to earn a joint or multiple degree from at least two different universities. In the competition, academic institutions may submit an application under one of two tracks: to establish or continue existing study programmes with an international curriculum.
International law
The Faculty of Law and Administration at the Nicolaus Copernicus University, in collaboration with Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania), Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University (Tbilisi, Georgia), and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Kyiv, Ukraine), will launch an international three-semester master's degree programme in legal studies. The Law & Global Integration programme will be interdisciplinary in nature, with a particular focus on transnational, European, and comparative law. Furthermore, a key component of the programme will be the analysis of how law functions in the context of global economic, social, and technological integration.
The new degree programme at the NCU Faculty of Law and Administration will address the growing demand in the job market for professionals with advanced legal expertise, including knowledge of multi-level global, regional, and national regulations. Its graduates will be prepared to work in international institutions, public administration, non-governmental organizations, law firms, and international business entities. The programme will also benefit academic and administrative staff, who will develop their competencies through training in the design, implementation, and management of international study programmes, as well as study visits to foreign partners. NAWA has allocated 997,954 PLN for this purpose.

As part of a pilot programme prior to the launch of the degree programme, an international summer school will be organized at the Nicolaus Copernicus University, with the participation of students and teaching staff from partner universities. This will allow for an assessment of the programme's quality, the effectiveness of the selected teaching methods, and the accessibility of the proposed solutions.
Polish-French diploma
“From Experience to Innovation: Toruń and Angers – 15 Years of the Polish-French Dual Degree Programme in Management" is the title of a project aimed at developing long-term cooperation between the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and the University School of Management at the Université d'Angers. It focuses on improving the two-year master's degree programme in management, conducted entirely in English. Upon completion, graduates receive a dual degree from the Nicolaus Copernicus University and the University School of Management. The first two semesters are held at the NCU Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, while classes in the following year take place at the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises in France. This programme model fosters the development of academic and social relationships and enhances students' international experience.
The project submitted to the NAWA will help maintain the continuity and high quality of the Polish-French dual-degree programme in management. The additional funding will support student mobility and the professional development of academic staff. Additional funding will also be allocated to the information and recruitment campaign for the programme to counter the downward trend in the number of applicants. The total amount of funding for the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management's application is PLN 995,210.
Both applications for the “Katamaran" call for proposals were prepared in collaboration with the Structural Funds Management Section of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. The projects will be co-financed by the European Social Development Fund 2021–2027 (ESDF) as part of the NAWA project titled “Support for the Development and Implementation of International Education Programmes."
