On 22 October, the 'UMKaktywni zdrowie' (NCU Active Health) programme will be launched – an initiative aimed at all NCU employees, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, integration and support the well-being of the academic community.

The campaign, which will last until the end of November, aims to encourage people employed at our University to take health-promoting actions – this may include changing their diet, giving up stimulants or taking up any form of physical activity – from walking and cycling to gymnastics, yoga or dancing. It is not the result or pace that counts, but regularity, movement and commitment..

The health-promoting commitment of employees is important – as a result, the NCU Rector will transfer funds to the University Centre for Support and Personal Development for activities supporting the well-being of university employees. In this way, the efforts of each person participating in the campaign translate not only into improved individual fitness and well-being, but also into real help for other members of the Nicolaus Copernicus University community.

The 'UMKaktywni zdrowie' campaign is the first result of the partnership established in September between the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and Neuca S.A. It was inspired by the 'NEUCAaktywni zdrowie' campaign run by the Toruń-based company. The originators of the programme at the Nicolaus  Copernicus University are mgr Karolina Sokalska, Chancellor of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, and Bogusława Golus-Jankowska, President of the Board of the NEUCA for Health Foundation.

The programme is open to all members of staff at the Nicolaus Copernicus University, regardless of age, fitness level or sporting experience. Participants must register via an online form, where they can record their health-promoting activities.

The results of the campaign will be announced by 15 December.
