New chapter of neighbourhood cooperation
Research, teaching activities and organisational initiatives are the subject of a cooperation agreement signed by the rectors of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
This is a new chapter in the cooperation between the two universities, which the NCU Faculty of Chemistry has been actively developing for many years.
The object of the agreement, which was signed on 21 January 2025 at the Collegium Maximum by the Prof Andrzej Tretyn, NCU Rector, and Prof Serhiy Kvit, Rector of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv (NaUKMA), inlcudes:
- joint research on topics of mutual interest;
- exchange of experience between research and teaching staff;
- exchange of scientific publications, scripts, textbooks and scientific literature;
- exchange of research and teaching staff and students;
- organisation of joint scientific meetings.
Joint activities also cover other areas, such as the implementation of the NAWA 'Solidarity with Ukraine' programme and research in the life sciences.
During the meeting accompanied by the signing of the agreement, the NCU was also represented by dr habil. Magdalena Barwiołek, NCU Prof., Vice-Rector for International Relations; dr habil. Urszula Kiełkowska, NCU Prof., Dean of the NCU Faculty of Chemistry; dr habil. Wojciech Kujawski NCU Prof, Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry and Physicochemistry of Polymers; and Anna Prykanowska, Deputy Head of the Department of International Partnerships and Educational Mobility. Also present on behalf of NaUKMA were the Deans of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prof. Polina Vakuliuk and Prof. Vitalii Shpylchyn; Prof. Henryk Sobczuk from the Institute of Technology and Life Sciences - State Research Institute and Larysa Chovnyuk, Head of the International Cooperation Department.
