Starting 1 October 2024, applications are open for a new grant programme aimed at YUFE Student Help Desks at Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU). The programme is designed to offer financial support for organizing educational events to benefit the local community.

With the new funding, the Help Desks will have the opportunity to undertake larger projects, including courses and training sessions for the residents of Toruń and surrounding areas, as well as workshops for children and young people. The additional form of support will also provide an opportunity to strengthen connections with the local and regional community.

The new funding initiative reflects the Help Desks' growing commitment to social involvement. It will enable students to go beyond virtual consultations, offering in-person interactions and a range of educational events for the community.

Each Help Desk coordinator can apply for funding on behalf of the clinic. In the 2024/2025 academic year, the applications can be submitted until 15 November 2024, with the possibility of opening another round in the second semester, depending on the availability of funds.

The YUFE Help Desk Network at NCU was established in 2021 to strengthen the university's connections with the wider community. Students working under the guidance of academic staff use their university-acquired knowledge to assist the public by answering questions, providing training, and offering free advice and professional support. All inquiries are treated confidentially, and those seeking help can remain anonymous.
