Anna Einarsdottir's lecture
Dr. Anna Einarsdottir's lecture "Video booth methodology: voice, visibility and impression management" will be held on Tuesday, March 18 at 1:00 pm in Collegium Maius. The meeting is open to all NCU community members interested in the topics of inequality and exclusion.
The video booth encouraged LGBT+ identifying employees and allies to record short messages about their working lives and experiences of LGBT+ networks. A total of 120 recordings were submitted, broadly concerning LGBT+ networks, working lives of LGBT+ employees and support and engagement with LGBT+ communities.
Dr. Einarsdottir will also explain the purpose of the video booth, what kind of videos were produced and by whom. She further discusses how the workplace shaped contributions, the extent of impression management and the ways the data was analysed. Ethical challenges of producing and using material where identities have not been disguised are considered, alongside the opportunities this methodology offers to research in organisational settings.
The lecture will be held in the Ludwik Kolankowski Hall (room 307) in Collegium Maius (Fosa Staromiejska 3, Toruń). An additional informal meeting on visibility and inclusion of LGBTQI+ people at work is scheduled for 3:00 pm. This will be an opportunity to discuss more advanced topics and network.
We wtorek 18 marca o godz. 13:00 w Collegium Maius odbędzie się wykład dr Anny Einarsdottir "Video booth methodology: voice, visibility and impression management". Spotkanie jest otwarte dla wszystkich członków społeczności UMK zainteresowanych tematyką nierówności i wykluczenia.
Wykład będzie dotyczył metodologii badań, które przeprowadziła dr Anna Einarsdottir (School for Business and Society, University of York). W ramach badania zachęcano osoby pracujące i identyfikujące się jako LGBT+ do nagrywania krótkich wiadomości na temat ich życia zawodowego i doświadczeń z sieciami LGBT+. Łącznie nadesłano 120 nagrań.
Podczas wykładu będzie można posłuchać o celach badania i jego metodologii, w tym o sposobach analizy danych. Prelegentka omówi również etyczne wyzwania związane z produkcją i wykorzystaniem materiałów, w których tożsamość nie została ukryta oraz możliwości, jakie taka metodologia oferuje badaniom w obszarze organizacyjnym.
Wykład odbędzie się w sali im. Ludwika Kolankowskiego (s. 307) w Collegium Maius (Fosa Staromiejska 3). Na godz. 15:00 zaplanowano dodatkowe nieformalne spotkanie na temat widoczności i integracji osób LGBTQI+ w pracy. Będzie to okazja do omówienia bardziej zaawansowanych tematów i nawiązania współpracy.
