Two sides of the same coin - numismatic exhibition
On Friday, May 29, the University Museum in Toruń invites everyone to the opening of the exhibition titled "Two Sides of the Same Coin: Numismatic Antiquarianism of the 16th - 18th Centuries as reflected in Old Prints and Ancient Coins". The event starts at 5:00 p.m.
The exhibition will feature nearly 30 old prints from the collections of the Nicolaus Copernicus University Library and private collections, important for coin research and collection. These include important scholarly works, the first catalogues of coins and medals, as well as early compendiums for collectors and 18th-century auction catalogues. The books will be accompanied by 74 ancient Greek and Roman coins, early modern medals, and a decorative numismatic tray from the 18th century.
The exhibition is curated by Dr Bartosz Awianowicz, a professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University and a researcher at the Department of Classical Philology at the Faculty of Humanities, and is organised by the Nicolaus Copernicus University Library. The exhibition is held under the honorary patronage of the NCU Rector, Prof. Andrzej Tretyn, the Polish Numismatic Society and the Numimarket.pl Auction House. The exhibition will be on display until July 28th.

Toruń Improvised Orchestra - concert and workshops
Join the Copernican Integration Centre on Saturday, July 18, for an evening of spontaneous music, creativity, and community.
The evening begins with a concert by the Toruń Improvised Orchestra (TOI) - an open musical collective where the music is created in the moment. There are no fixed compositions, and musicians of different experience levels perform together through free improvisation and signal conducting.
After the concert, everyone is invited to take part in an interactive workshop and become part of the orchestra! You don't need any previous musical experience.
- Just want to listen? You're more than welcome.
- Have your own instrument? Bring it along and join in.
- Don't have an instrument? No problem! We'll provide one for you.
Schedule:
- 7:00 PM Concert by the Toruń Improvised Orchestra
- 8:00 PM Free improvisation & signal conducting workshop, followed by a shared performance

Admission Q&A with Collegium Medicum
NCU Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz invites all candidates to a second admission live Q&A session, to be held on Wednesday, July 22nd at 12:00 am (noon). The session is for anyone considering studying Medicine, Physiotherapy, or Pharmacy at NCU CM.

“Mokisso” - an exhibition by Wojciech Bendyk
The Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University invites everyone to Wojciech Bendyk’s exhibition titled "Mokisso". The opening will take place on July 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the ZPAP OT Gallery (ul. Św. Ducha 8/10/12) in Toruń.
Wojciech Bendyk is a graduate of painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He is the recipient of the Toruń ZPAP Award for the best graduation project in 2024. He has held over a dozen solo and group exhibitions. He is a participant in the “Koncentracja” series of meetings, which brings together artists, scholars, and cultural activists from all over Poland. Finalist in this year’s nationwide “Artpospolita” competition. Winner of the “Collage/Assemblage Biennale 2025” - the only competition of its kind in Europe. He was also active in the “Strzępy” collective for the exhibition “Złe Przeczucie,” in collaboration with the Wozownia Gallery.
His works can be seen on the alternative art scene in Toruń - at “Klubokawiarnia Pers,” “Klub NRD,” and “Kombinat Kultury” - as well as in Bydgoszcz at “Klub MÓZG.” He is a multimedia artist who currently works primarily in assemblage, allowing him to combine experiences from all fields of art. He is interested in the relationship between humans, the sacred, and nature. His works are an expression of his personal spirituality, stemming from a fascination with indigenous cultures and a love of nature.
