YUFE Townhall
YUFE Townhall is the largest YUFE annual event with the aim of gathering all YUFE stakeholders – internal and external – to discuss issues of mutual importance, outcomes of YUFE, and future plans for the development of European Universities Initiative. It was also an occasion to launch new programme for post-docs!
YUFE Townhall 2023 took place in Rijeka from the 15th until the 17th of February 2023 and was dedicated to the topic of impact and contribution of the European Universities to its stakeholders, higher education systems and societies in general. In 4 panels students' representatives, academic and administrative staff, citizens and European commissioners gathered to deliberate on:
- Contribution to the European Strategy for Universities
- Engagement with (diverse) external stakeholders
- Examples of European Universities' impact for different stakeholders
- Combining the European focus with the local dimension of community engagement
- Needs from the European higher education
- Long-term future of the European Universities
During the event YUFE4 Postdocs (Y4P) program was officially launched. Supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, the Y4P project aims to attract and train future proof-researchers, building bridges between academia and society.
Two calls for postdoctoral research positions are planned, open for all disciplines, under the overarching theme of 'Urban opportunities and challenges'. The first call will be open from 1st March to 7th May 2023 and will focus on Sustainability and Digital Societies. The second call will be open from 1st October to 20th December 2023 and will focus on Citizens' Well-being and European Identity.
