A bronze medal from the European Championships in the men's double quadruple sculls was added to his collection by Mirosław Ziętarski, a titled rower, a student of National Security at the NCU and a representative of the NCUAZS. A successful performance during the competition in Szeged, Hungary, was also recorded by rowers from our University, and coach Łukasz Pawłowski will go to the Olympic Games in Paris.

The competition was held on 25-28 April.

The men's double quadruple sculls composed of: Dominik Czaja, Mateusz Biskup, Mirosław Ziętarski and Fabian Barański defended their European championship title in Szeged. In the final race, after an extremely fierce race, the white and red team were able to enjoy the bronze medal - this time the Poles had to acknowledge the superiority of the Italians and the Swiss.

Students Kinga Stałęga, Julia Hakobyan and Dominika Gałka faced a tough task as they competed with Anna Potrzuska against the top four in the long row. In their debut at the European Championships, the students of media studies, management and psychology at the NCU finished fifth in the final race. It is worth recalling that they are athletes in the U23 category.

Lukasz Pawlowski, a silver medallist at the Beijing Olympic Games and an assistant at the University Sports Centre, also has reason to be satisfied. The women's doubles team led by him, consisting of Katarzyna Wełna and Martyna Radosz, won qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris.

It is therefore already known that the Polish Olympic rowing team will include coach Łukasz Pawłowski alongside Mirosław Ziętarski. The start of Kingia Stałęga, Julia Hakobyan and Dominika Gałka is still under question, as they will probably face the chance to obtain an Olympic qualification during the regatta in Lucerne on 19-21 May.
